Who we are

Red Earth Films is a new production company founded by husband-and-wife team Adam and Victoria Wimpenny, both highly experienced directors and producers with a track record of creating exceptional television.

Having built successful careers individually, we’ve combined our experience to form a company dedicated to producing ambitious and thought provoking drama, documentary, and factual programming for major broadcasters.

What we do

With decades of experience across multiple genres working as producers, directors and executives, we are uniquely positioned to take projects from concept through to production and delivery. Our deep understanding of storytelling, visual style, and audience engagement allows us to craft compelling, distinctive shows that resonates.

We have made prime-time award-winning drama, documentary and factual shows for many of the major broadcasters. We have also worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Chris Martin, Emma Thompson, Natasha McElhone, Sharon Horgan, Bear Grylls, David Beckham, Simon Cowell, Melvyn Bragg, Ricky Gervais and Jodie Whittaker, among many others. Our strong relationships with both on-screen talent and behind-the-scenes creatives enable us to bring together the best teams to realise our vision at the highest level.

Adam & Victoria Wimpenny are highly experienced producers and directors with 20 years experience in the TV and Film industry and have worked across drama, documentaries and factual.

Together they have set up Red Earth Films to make projects they are passionate about.

Director & Producer / Executive Producer

Adam Wimpenny

Adam Wimpenny is a London-based director known for bold, stylish storytelling and cinematic visuals. His work spans award-winning films and high-profile television, with credits including the hit drama series Hotel Portofino (PBS/ITV), Madonna & Basquiat (Sky/Showtime), and the acclaimed feature film Blackwood. A former Screen International “Star of Tomorrow,” Adam’s projects have sold to global platforms such as Netflix, Showtime, and BBC America. His early career saw him direct BAFTA-winning series and work with talent like Russell Tovey, Jodie Whittaker, Samuel L. Jackson, and Ricky Gervais.

Adam’s versatility has seen him direct across genres, from scripted drama and comedy to documentary, for major broadcasters such as the BBC, ITV, Sky, and Channel 4, with his work sold internationally. His credits include The Investigator (Netflix/ITV), The Revolution Will Be Televised (BBC), and Derren Brown’s Trick or Treat (C4). Adam has also made award-winning short films and directed commercials for brands like Sony, Coca-Cola, and Visit Britain. Through Red Earth Films, Adam continues to create ambitious, visually striking content, combining his passion for storytelling with a broad range of experience across drama, documentary and factual projects .

Director & Producer / Executive Producer

Victoria Wimpenny

Victoria is a co-founder of Red Earth Films, bringing over 20 years of experience as a highly respected Television Producer/Director and Live Events Producer. With a career spanning documentaries, arts programming, factual entertainment, and high-profile live events, she has worked with all the major UK broadcasters, including ITV, Channel 4, PBS, and Sky. Victoria is known for her ability to lead large-scale productions with creativity and precision, working closely with talent such as Chris Martin, Emma Thompson, Fearne Cotton, and Melvyn Bragg, as well as directing projects on cultural icons including Sean Connery, Coldplay, and Carlos Acosta.

At Red Earth Films, Victoria draws on her deep editorial expertise, shaping the creative vision of each project from development through to final delivery. She is skilled at managing complex shoots and international productions, overseeing extensive post-production workflows, and collaborating with both on-screen and behind-the-scenes talent to create distinctive and ambitious content. From documentaries and scripted drama to live awards shows such as The South Bank Sky Arts Awards, Victoria’s passion for storytelling and attention to detail ensures every production is delivered to the highest standard.
